"It is just as if a king sent you to the country to carry out a specific task.If you go and accomplish a hundred other tasks, but do not perform that particular task, then it is as though you performed nothing at all.So, everyone comes into this world for a particular task, and that is their purpose. If they do not perform it, then they will have done nothing." Jalal al-Din Rumi (1207-1273) mystical poet of Islam. What is the task that the mystical poet, Rumi, is suggesting? What is it that we must fulfill or our lives will have been a waste of time? Well, as you know by this point, the Life On Purpose Perspective suggests that our life purpose isn't just about what we're here to do - it's more about who we are as spiritual beings. The task at hand is to realize this cosmic truth and to then live accordingly - to "make spirituality the hub around which the wheel of our daily life turns.".Let's explore a bit why our spiritual nature is so important to living an inspired life on purpose.==========.Becoming Fully Engaged in Life.==========.According to Jim Loher and Tony Schwartz in their book, The Power of Full Engagement, we human beings have 4 different sources of energy..1.Physical energy.2.Mental energy.3.Emotional energy.4.Spiritual energy.Or course, just like in a hybrid automobile where the gasoline engine and the electrical battery system are closely interconnected, our four energy sources are as well.As Loher and Schwartz point out.."The quantity of energy we have to spend at any given moment is a reflection of our physical capacity." However, "Our motivation to spend what we have is largely a spiritual issue.Fundamentally, spiritual energy is a unique force for action in all dimensions of our lives. It is the most powerful source of our motivation, perseverance and direction.Anything that ignites the human spirit serves to drive full engagement and to maximize performance in whatever mission we are on.".In other words, our spiritual energy and nature is what gives our lives meaning, and it's that meaning that motivates and inspires us, as well as giving us the strength to persevere, while also giving us a sense of direction and focus to our lives. It's also what allows us to tap into an infinite wellspring of passion, enthusiasm, compassion, wisdom, creativity, peace-of-mind, joy and universal love, just to mention a few of the qualities of the Divine to which we have access. You see, we are always connected to this infinite source of spiritual energy.Always.We're like an electrical outlet, just waiting for an appliance to be plug into us.The electrical power is already available long before the appliance is plugged in.If you don't believe me, just try sticking your finger in the socket.(On second thought, please don't try that experiment.Just take my word for it.) We're constantly and consistently connected and in communication with the cosmic consciousness and creator of this incredible cosmos. We just tend to forget this at times, and so we may fail to experience the connection. We're often so blinded and deafened by the glitter, bling, and roar of this physical world in which we live that we can easily forget this connection, and when we do forget, especially if we forget for an extended amount of time, we may find ourselves in another kind of spiral - a downward spiral that's driven and perpetuated by the fear and lack of the Inherited Purpose.=============.The Close Connection Between Spiritual Energy and Life Purpose.=============.And here is where we come full circle with our Spiral of Fulfillment that started with becoming clear about our life purpose - our Divinely Inspired Life Purpose that is.Knowing your Divinely Inspired Life Purpose with crystal clarity is like having a door thrown wide open to the Divine Source of the universe.Yes, Divine Spirit maintains an open door policy for all of us, especially when we're clear about who we are as spiritual beings and what we came here to be and to experience, AND we allow that purpose to shape our lives - all of our lives. our decisions, our choices, and our actions. So, how do we keep the door to the Divine open? How do we keep the communication channels open so we can hear the Divine Guidance? Well, it just takes practice - patient and persistence practice. But, we'll need to save that topic for another time.
