London set another World Record as 670 boats completed the full pageant route from Westminster Bridge to HMS Belfast in a spectacular occasion organised to celebrate 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II on the throne.Despite the dampened weather, people came out in large numbers from far and near to sheer the Royal Family.Hundreds of millions of viewers watch the event as it is broadcast around the world by various cable networks.This is a memorable event that bring all the British people together in a spirit of nationalism and patriotism.One may wonder why people troop out to meet the Queen despite the adverse weather conditions.Several people have camped a day earlier sitting in the cold and on a wet ground and sacrificing the comforts of their homes just to get a glimpse of Her Majesty.They have done all these because the Monarch has made them proud.She was just 25 when she ascended the throne, yet she composed herself wonderfully well despite the grief of her father's death.From then on, she has been presiding over the United Kingdom in a reign that is virtually flawless.In times of peace and war, she remains calm and resolute.Above all, she is very unique in some respects and this uniqueness make her stand out among many traditional and political leaders in the world and this is why she continues to win the awe and admiration of many people around the world.Bellow are some of the qualities of her majesty that distinguish her from other world leaders.- The Queen is able to combine her official engagement with her parental responsibilities.She proves herself to be a good leader and a fantastic mother at the same time.She is a good example for all British women and she stands firm to defend women's rights.- She is the longest living British Monarch and by 2015 she would surpass Queen Victoria as the longest-reigning British monarch.- She is the most powerful woman on earth.She is the Commander in Chief of all British forces.She has the power of prerogative of mercy.She can pardon a convicted criminal.She has the power to dissolve the Parliament, to remove the Prime Minister, and declare war against a foreign state.No Act of Parliament can become law without her approval and she has the power to withhold such approval.She is immune from prosecution.Despite all these powers, Her Majesty abstains from politics in its entirety.- Apart from the United Kingdom, she is also Queen of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, and Saint Kitts and Nevis, where she is represented by Governors-General.The 16 countries of which she is queen are known as Commonwealth Realms, and their combined population is 128 million.Having such a charismatic figure as the Queen is a special gift to England and to the entire Commonwealth at large.Congratulations Your Majesty, may your reign last long.Congratulations to everyone in Britain and congratulations to all Commonwealth citizens.
